Lizz began her public education career nearly twenty years ago as the teacher of American Sign Language, at Roosevelt High School – Minneapolis, MN. She received her B.S. degree (1997) in elementary education and secondary education non-categorical special education, from Grambling State University. Her first master’s degree (M.Ed. 1999), in deaf education, is from the University of Minnesota, Twin-Cities. Her second master’s degree (Ed.S. 2003) is Eastern Michigan University, in educational administration.
Although she has no children of her own, she has dedicated her life and experiences to educational causes. Lizz is an avid volunteer and devotes her time to numerous causes including the Houston Black Deaf Advocate, Houston Ballet Guild, and Houston Opera Guild.
The itch to get my doctoral studies never stopped. It was like a bad mosquito bite. She attended Eastern Michigan University and received the Educational Specialist (Master's) in Administration.
